What does Officer mean?

“Officer” is defined in the ODT Regulations.  In summary, the most common persons to which the ODT Regulations apply is Director of any Club, and/or in respect of any Club, any individual person operating the powers that are usually associated with those of:

    (a) a director of a company incorporated under the Companies Act 2006 (as a company limited by shares or guarantee);

    (b) an officer of a registered society under the Cooperative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 (“a registered society”);

    (c) any person or group of persons that are acting in Concert that hold or are proposing to hold at least 30% of the voting             right of a Club;    

    (c) a Chairman, Secretary or Treasurer of a Club that is an unincorporated association.
